First time using this mash tun. Lost a lot of heat through the top. Next time we need to put a blanket on top. Mash temp started at 151, and dropped down to 138 before we saw it. So we're expecting poor extraction.

Mash temp dropped because of heat loss through the top of the cooler. We had planned on getting a 1.051 with 6 gallons. Because of the poor mash, we hit 1.051 at 4.5 gallons.
